Chris Dorr – Executive Director
Chris Dorr is the founder and Executive Director of Florida Gun Owners, the Sunshine State’s no-compromise grassroots organization dedicated to defending and advancing the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding Floridians.
Florida Gun Owners was born out of necessity. In 2018, after Parkland, weak Republicans in Tallahassee teamed up with the Left to ram through a massive gun-control omnibus bill — and no one in Florida fought back. That failure made it clear a true grassroots army was needed to stand up to the political establishment.
Under Chris Dorr’s leadership, FGO is building that army from the ground up. The organization is known for its confrontational, no-compromise approach: exposing politicians who betray their voters, working to pass Open Carry and the Second Amendment Protection Act, and killing every new gun-control bill that rears its head in Tallahassee.
As one of the Dorr Brothers, fighting for gun rights is in his blood. Chris and his wife Lydia have nine children. A former heavy equipment operator, asphalt paver operator, and cattle feeder, Chris Dorr caught the politics bug in 2007 working for the Ron Paul for President campaign in various states.
A Christian, a homeschooling father, and outdoorsman, he is committed to passing down the Christian Western values of faith, freedom, and personal responsibility that built our nation to the next generation.
