It’s official. Governor Ron DeSantis is running for President.

And this presents a unique opportunity for Florida gun owners. Let me explain.

You see, while he travels the country stumping for his campaign, gun owners here in Florida know that more needs to be done to expand and restore our gun rights.

Sure, it’s true that he signed a Permitless-carry bill into law weeks ago, but everyone knows the bill he was given to sign was weak, that it did not allow for legal open carry and thus was NOT true Constitutional Carry like gun owners deserve.

Not only that, but everyone knows Florida has arguably the worst gun control laws of any Republican-controlled state in America.

Here’s your refresher:

• Mandatory 3-day waiting period before purchasing a firearm.
• A ban on adults 18-20 years of age from purchasing a rifle.
• A ban on open carry of any
• A statewide ban on bump stocks, even though the federal ban has been ruled unconstitutional.
• A mandatory ‘gun lockup’ law.
• Perhaps the worst, a Red Flag Gun Confiscation law.

Still think we live in the freest state in the nation? Think again.

Shamefully, our state constitution has been hijacked by the Radical Left as well:

• Article 1 Section 8 of the Florida Constitution establishes every Floridian’s right to keep and bear arms, “except that the manner of bearing arms may be regulated by law.”

This total blunder opened the door for every piece of gun control that was passed into law.

• Article 8 Section 5 of the Florida Constitution allows each county to establish a 3 to 5 day waiting period for sales of firearms within that county – regardless of our preemption law!

As you can see, there is room for major improvement when it comes to our gun rights.

The bad news is, the Florida Legislature has adjourned until January of 2024, so no pro-gun bills can be introduced or passed at this time – by normal means.

But we live in very not-normal times.

And Governor Ron DeSantis has the authority and power to do something about our horrendous gun control laws.

You see, the Governor can call the Legislature back into Tallahassee for a ‘Special Session’ for the purpose of repealing any of our gun control laws.

And that would certainly apply to our Red Flag Gun Confiscation law.

In fact, Governor DeSantis just appeared on the Dana Show where he was asked what he thinks about ‘taking the guns first and going through due process second.’

His response?
“That’s unconstitutional.”

BINGO! He nailed it on the head.

But friend, you and I both know talk is cheap. The time for action is right now.

This is the question gun owners here in the Sunshine State should be asking him:

“If you truly believe that Red Flag Gun Confiscation laws are unconstitutional, will you convene a special session?”

And it’s a damn good question.

It’s a question that Ron DeSantis needs to be asked and deliver an answer for if he wants to win over gun owners in advance of the primary election to become the Republican Presidential nominee.

But to be honest, I don’t think we should stop at repealing our Red Flag law. No way.

As you saw above, there are plenty more anti-gun and anti-Second Amendment laws on the books here in Florida that need to go, too.

That’s why we have a brand-new action item for you to execute right now for our gun rights.

Our State Legislature may be over for this year, but Ron DeSantis has the power to change that – and I think it’s time that he does!

That means he is paying WAY more attention to gun owners right now than he ever has before!

We can do this, but it’s going to take all of us.
